19/09/13 Quick journal entry.

I'm realizing that now I'm halfway till graduation. I don't want to think about all that stuff like working and what not yet, but I wonder what kind of adult I will be (Kinda like PunPun!). Soon in term 4, I'll be doing my duke of ed walks in weeks 2 and 4, followed by a year 9 camp. Then off to year 10, where I have to choose my career and go to formal. This thought about formal is definitely influenced by Formal Wars. And then year 11 and camp, along with year 12. I wonder if you can guess my school? I won't tell ya yet, mainly because I'm still highly paranoid about people find out. I haven't touched this blog in a LOOOOOONG time. I feel kinda bad. It's 2am and I don't want to do my assignment, which I have decided to restart. I'm not tires because I've had several naps today.

Honestly, all I can think of now are the camps I have this year because there are so many!! I'm somewhat happy but the year 9 camp has less people going than I thought there would be. But the thing I'm looking most forward to is the year 11 one (thinking very ahead you see), since I really want to be in snow, having only been as close to it as being with ice.

Anyway, life reflection over, need work done! I hope I can find some good fluffy romance mangas soon with very nicely drawn art. Now, not fluffy as in boy on boy, I just want a shoujo. Lately all I've been reading are psychological and stuff like that that dwelves into the human mind. It's interesting, frightening and morbid unfortunately. Like homunculus, which is the one I'm reading right now. Anyway before that I was reading Onani Master Kurosawa, or Master of masturbation Kurosawa. It turned out to be really good and I even read the short light novel. It's not what you think it it, but travels with Kurosawa as he changes himself for redemption. It's surprisingly heartwarming. I've also got my eyes on molester man, a parody of densha otoko, which is a drama I watched a while ago. So if you knew that drama, you would know that chikan otoko has now actual molesting.  But I want a cute touching story with not too cliche characters, but enough to send me happiness. Does that make me sound stupid? Yeah, I thought so. I'm extremely tired right now though. For maybe another half hour I'll sit here listening to my playlist. This season's dramas kinda sucked as well. Woman was good, I watched Starman as well, which I thought was average and Limit because first I intended to read as a manga but the scanlators have a pole of their arses so I can't and was halted halfway. Hanazawa was not bad either. I fell in love with yamada kun to 7 nin no majo, but now for me the manga is much better. It's actually a really fun read. Also yankee kun to megane chan is amazing as well. I going for comedic value here mainly.

My rainy days/ Tenshi No Koi short review?!?! no spoilers!

I stumbled upon this accidentally while prowling through youtube, and I ended up enjoying this movie.

Rio is a high school student who is similar to your cliche popular type on the surface. She amazes everyone with her beauty and is the centre of everyone's gazes. Though beneath she is manipulative and uses everyone for her own gain. This is until she falls in love for the first time, to Kouki, a 35 year old professor. The feeling of doki doki has never reached her before, and now she had been hit like a train, changing her once cruel perspective on the world, and that everything is not as bad and repulsive as it seems to be.

Actually, when I first saw this I was pretty surprised to see Tanihara acting in this. Each time I see him, I didn't know he was in the drama/ movie, and because I love him dearly as an actor, I've never actually searched for what he was in and just kept appearing in various dramas and stuff. And every time my reaction is the same.

Yep.  But sorry I watched this about three months ago, so I watched the trailer. I can feel my heart slowly tearing itself apart. *Sigh.

On the movie.

I loved it. The plot is rich with feelings, and as I watched Rio go from manipulative bitch to typical school girl with a crush on her first love, she started to grow on me. It was really, really cute. Really. Especially that she grew on Kouki as well, and that they become something that was pretty pure for a relationship in my opinion. Innocent.

But heartbreaking.

I don't want to enter any spoilers. But the last scene left me pretty speechless. And bittersweet. Not too sure how to feel, but it's not the kind of feeling you get when you watch a movie with a crappy ending. It's like, "Oh....hey.... I like this..but I want to see more, because it seems like this was just the beginning...." sort of thing.

Anyway, it doesn't only deal with just lovey dovey first lost though.

Darker themes such as underage prostitution, depression, the effect of manipulation, broken friendships, broken relationships and how daunting an illness on a loved one can really be on certain people all lie here and there in the plot. I'm not sure how common this is in films like this, but it set that serious tone needed while the film deals with a cutesy love between an 17 year old student and a 35 year old professor.

Oh and this film is a little more beautiful than others in a way, visually.

I recommend this movie to anyone who can handle some of the themes present, and to anyone who's looking for something sadder than your usual romance film. But if you're not, save it until you're ready, because I think this film is worth seeing.

To The Beautiful You

This was the first ever, Asian and Korean Drama I ever watched. Yup. And it was good. I liked the cheesiness of it, and the love tention. The fact that Jae-hee (Sulli), was almost never found out though it was a bit obvious, did mess with me a little, but I looked past that and into the cheesiness anyway and enjoyed it. I guess it became a bit of a guilty pleasure. The cast is pretty much made up of pretty faces, which I guess would be every fangirl's dream.  I think this drama would be good for anyone looking for a silly, romantic drama, full of romantic moments. It's production is also very pleasing as eye candy, with each episode being pretty much beautiful to just look at. 

Basically, this is just full of moments where you would fangirl and be all like "HHHHNNNNNGGGGGG". Yes. That's why for me it's a guilty pleasure. But if you're not up for that, leave. Or stay, I don't mind.

Let's get reviewin'!

There's really nothing much I can say, except that there are some laugh out loud moments scattered across the show and some where you're at the edge of your seat screaming "GET TOGETHER DAMMIT" as the two love interests are too close to be awkward as friends. It's funny because sometimes it's so extreme it's funny. 

The story is about Jae Hee, who decides that she wants to see Tae Joon, an olympic High Jumper, Jump once again. She's absolutely dedicated to him as he became her inspiration when she was a runner in high school. So to do this, she chopped off her hair, hopped onto a flight to Korea from America and entered as a male student into the elite-all-male school that her hero lives at. 

The plot wasn't really all that surprising and was predictable at times. But nonetheless, very, very cute. Everyone was very cute. The acting was cute. And aren't all of us mushy for cute stuff? I think yes. 

The acting was great really. Minho's expressions did soften to a smile by the end of the show. 

Well for the characters, I really thought that everyone would notice that SHE WAS A GIRL. There was even one scene where SHE LOOKED AND SOUNDED LIKE A GIRL, AND NOBODY NOTICED AND PIECED FUDGING TOGETHER. Sorry for my language. No I'm not that angry. This is a teenage romance comedy after all. The chemistry between Jae Hee and Tae Joon was well executed.

Anyway, they're not the only ones to shine. Lee Hyun Woo became sort of my bias for a while. And still is. @-@ His character was what kept me watching I guess, even though his character wasn't all that good in the end... But I'll probably watch the next drama he features in. He really grows on you. 

And Cha Eun Gyeol And  Jae Hee is still my OTP for this. Mhmm.

As you can see from some of the images, the show looks kinda pretty right? In fact, Tae Joon's high jump was shot with 105 high-speed cameras. So much attention to the visuals right? 

But finally, I thought that the ending was a bit rushed, or at least, very cheesy. And not that satisfactory. Like this review, which was rushed a bit as well, (sorry!). Overall, good watch. Great watch if you're looking for something you can feel great about while watching. 

Anyway, after remembering this drama, I've decided to go ahead and watch the japanese version which came out in 2007 I think. But apparently theres the 2011 remake of that one so... I'm not sure which one to watch. Anyway bye!

35 sai no Koukousei Initial Impression!

So I decided to start watching 35 sai no Koukousei. 

And it's one of those dramas where there's someone in trouble, may it be life problems, and our main character comes in, intervenes with his or her's strange tactic that solves everything, and everyone is happy in the end. I like this type of drama, because when I watched Don Quixote featuring Matsuda Shota, I didn't really expect much, but when it ended, I felt kinda sad. But I'm not reviewing that today. 

But I'm not reviewing 35 sai no Koukousei either since only one episode has come out. 

Anyway, so far it's about a 35 year old woman named Baba, who decides to join as a student at a high school, after a teacher jumped off a building claiming that high school is like a wasteland. 

Because our heroine is much older than everyone, the school looks at her with speculation and confusion because they have no idea why she is there. She becomes a quick outcast in her class, ridiculed by all of them. But she finds out that there is another student, hiding away in the toilet eating lunch. She decides to help her after watching her get bullied by all of her classmates, and after being reminded of  herself, she decides to set things straight and help this girl. 

I think that so far, though it's not as funny as Don Quixote, I don't think it has to be. So far, the show's pilot seems interesting enough, and there is still of the mystery of why Baba has decided to enrol. I'm looking forward to watching the second episode!

paper Towns By john Green. review!

I'd like to give a go at book reviewing. So here it is. Enjoy.

So what was this lovely book about?
Quentin Jacobsen, or Q, is in his last year of high school, and is a little in love with a pretty but mysterious girl names Margo Roth Spiegelman. Once friends, now completely different. But one night, he is visited by Margo at his bedside window where she coax him into following her on an adventure where she takes vengeance, before disappearing off the face of Earth. The disappearance goes unnoticed, as Q and his friends set out to follow her obscure clues in an attempt to find her, but will he be ready to find more than he bargained for?

This book was written in first person, in that way where we read the Q's  thoughts throughout the book. It's fluidity flows well, weaving a ribbon of easy narration which makes it seem like a quick read. Margo's witty clues really helped build her character, making more than just one dimensional, and we see Q's journey unfold mentally, discovering more about Margo and his obsession starts to spread to his close peers. Though  the characters, even Margo and Q, seemed a bit thinned, they still fledged to some extent.

The plot is clever and simple, yet somehow intricate, as well as thought provoking. Green's illusions brought the book to life, comparing our adolecent teenages as balloons, and using paper towns as a plot device was clever.





I think this a great read for teenages and adults, as it is well crafted and insightful. Teenages would be able to relate to the high school setting in the book, but I think that anyone who's looking for a riveting read which is both moving and clever should give this a go.

Sunao ni Narenakute Drama review~

Sunao ni Narenakute.

FINALLY, Ueno Juri and Eita and finally teamed up as love interests in this drama which came out a bit ago, after working together in Last Friends and the Nodame Cantabile series. Also in the main cast, Kim Jaejoong, in his only Japanese Drama. As you can see, I was really only interests because of the cast. Seki Megumi and Tamayama Tetsuji were also really great actors.  Skip to the very last paragraph if you don't feel like reading. Go ahead. 

In Sunao ni Narenakute is about five people who met over Twitter, who decided to meet up and create a place where they can talk freely about their problems. It's a journey which involves them getting to know themselves and becoming friends which overcome any problems that may come.

SnN's plot was great when the first few episodes came out, before deflating like a balloon on the second half. From what looked like a great drama, it seemed to fall apart into your typical, 
Oh-I-can't-be-true-to-my-feelings-for-this-person drama, or at least that's what I felt. But still a good watch anyway, with great acting. The soundtrack was likeable. 

For the acting, I think each person portrayed their characters quite well, no matter how annoying their characters were. Jaejoong, though is a korean actor, appeared here as a kinda shy and pretty awkward guy. But I'm not sure if it's the Japanese setting which had changed his acting skills, because I saw in in Protect The Boss, where he was a powerful guy, and he did his job as a powerful guy. Anyway, I've heard that he was a bad actor here, but he was supposed to be shown as that awkward, so I give him A for being good at acting awkward and meek. Anyway, Jaejoong was the only one who bugged me, or at least his character did. But then his character is kinda dorky in a cute way. UH I'm so confused!

The character concepts where a little typical. Each had problems, and for me, it seemed like the characters in Last Friends but which different problems which were a bit more common in society. I was super annoyed Doctor, who yes, was awkward to watch, but also super pushy and indifferent to the other characters. I know that his sister even says this, but I was annoyed  anyway. CAN HE NOT SEE that there was sexual tension?!?! I just wanted to whack him in the head. -.- But he did redeem himself in the end, and I respect him for that. For growing into someone who wasn't as weak.

For me, Linda, another main character, was not fully expressed until the end. He was kinda not there but also there you know? I think his problems were so rushed, it felt like a breeze and weren't fully resolved. Though he was the 'weakest', I think we could all learn from him. Peach could have really blossomed but I think the limelight focused too much on Haru and Nakaji. Peach's journey in this drama did turn out well in the end though. 

Haru did not really stand out for me, because i felt that her character ended up depending on the love triangles. I liked her though, because in the end, everyone was likeable.  Nakaji was a bit better, but I felt like almost everyone was in love with him or something like that. These two were also the main of the main, and COME ON. They were obviously suited with each other, having regular private time with just the two of them talking, yet they constantly denied that they liked each other. Not dissapointed about how it turned out though.

Enough rant about the character and let's go onto the music. 

The Soundtrack was above average. I loved some of the songs that played throughout, which felt youthful in a way. English songs were also present, with one in particular with a female vocalist. This song seemed to play regularly  and was sung slowly when the moment needed it.

This one was also really good.

 There were two main songs which also caught my ears as well.  

I think with Weaver's song, I fell in love with as I started to notice the song. It's really catchy, and frankly, I just like how it sounds constrained like the characters in the series. 

This single was softer than the others, and was a soothing listen. I feel kinda sad listening to it. *sniff*



So far, it seems like I'm pretty harsh, except for the soundtrack  But this drama is about people, and I think it did do what it did well. The drama, sometimes annoying, a little dragging, but portrays the lives of these young people good enough to sometimes have us on the edge of our seats. Their trial and errors became our trail and errors as we watch them fight against their everyday lives together with their bond of friendship. It explores how love can tear apart lives or change how people act, but that happens in life as well. This drama isn't as horrible as I might make it out to be, but I think I would recommend it to anyone looking for something nice to watch, or at least something they'd feel good about when they reach the end.

Q10 Jdrama. REVIEW~!

HELLO EVERYBODY. I decided to do the review straight after my last post. I'm afraid I'd forget more about the actual drama so here we go! Pardon my bad explanations, I will do better next time. 

This is my very first review on the very first japanese drama I ever watched, called Q10. I think it will remain in my heart for a long ass time because this made me kind of emotional when I saw it. But i'm a bit biased since it was my first. ANYWAY, on to my review!! Also, I watched this a while ago, so bear with me alright?

Q10 Jdrama review

(I only listed the two main characters because I can't comment on the others without being potentially wrong.)

I'M FANGIRLING ALREADY. I guess this drama also made me a big fan of Satoh Takeru, making me watch some other things that he featured in. MAN, I was so excited for Rurouni Kenshin the live action... but this isn't the Satoh reviews, it's a review about Q10.

So this drama was a really feel good, sweet and cute drama. It was short and sweet. Maybe a little bittersweet. It also has some morales from what I remember...

As you can see, it's just about some seemingly normal high school boy (Satoh Takeru) who's leading a seemingly normal life when suddenly he finds a robot (Atsuko Maeda), who he accidentally starts up. Kinda like chobits right?  Well at first yeah, but it's a bit deeper than that.

He ends up hanging out with her (surprise, surprise), and as they begin to bond, he starts to fall in love with this piece of wonderful machinery.

Still like chobits? Well, yeah.

But this drama is more, MUCH more than that. I don't know how to explain it. This drama really busted my emotions out. It's funny enough to make me laugh, yet sentimental enough to make me shed a tear, which I almost never, ever do, even when I watch sad movies. This also proves that I'm not heartless.

I also want to note on how the two mains interact. It's sweet, heartwarming, and funny. What makes is even better is that Heita, the boy, is quite relatable. He's not some superstar superhero, just some high schooler going the troubles that most students go through- minus the robot girl.

I'm trying not to spoil anything here.

Anyway, on the the acting! Yosh!

All I can say is that the acting was pretty good. I mean, it didn't seem fake, and they really did express their emotions and their characters' personalities well. Maeda did well for a robot. Satoh did well for a teenager.
I know my review on their acting is bad. Sorry. But I think that if their acting wasn't good, I wouldn't have been so emotional when it ended.

The music, well actually I don't remember much. But I will find them for you.
The ending is a nice melody, and in my opinion, really expresses the drama itself well. 

The soundtrack itself is calm and soothing. One particular track was also quite memorable. 


So I think that's all I can say for now. I really recommend it. I do, though I couldn't really say any faults. But love is blind.

The beginning

This is my first post, obviously. So you decided to go all the way back huh? Or maybe it's because this blog has been abandoned by future me because she got interested in other things. I don't really know what will happen to this blog, or what will come of it. If you know me personally and have stumbled upon this, please don't question me, because I kinda hate what past me does sometimes, and this could end up on the shame list or something.

So what will I write here? I don't know.. I think it'll just be my place. Where I type. I guess I'll do reviews on Dramas. I've been watching a lot of dramas lately. It's basically all I do, even high school students should be busy. But I'm never busy, and I'm even LESS than busy now that i'm on holidays. I'm scared my brain will go to mush by the time I start year 11. Really. But that's for later.

Or maybe I'll talk about my musical interests. No, I don't play an instrument, I meant stuff I listen to. Right now I'm listening to 'Kaban no Banka' By Ueno Juri. I think it's that. It's kinda cute. I'm listening because I'm watching a lot of stuff she has appeared in lately without realising it. I watched three consecutive dramas she was in. In the order the played them in! I didn't even know!

Anyway, I feel like a middle aged woman who just sits around gossiping about dramas and things. I think I will type about those later. It's quite late now, exactly 1am. I have a problem with sleeping. I can't sleep. My timetable for sleeping makes me nocturnal. Almost.
